George is the founder of Mudwalls Farm based in Warwickshire, which sits on a 250-acre site where the Beach family have been growing fruits and vegetables for the last 50 years. For many years previously, George worked for Tesco, and as category manager at Asda until eight years ago when he decided to establish his own business using his experience gained from working in the produce industry for retailers and importers. Mudwalls Farms grows apples, plums and a wide range of vegetables, which are distributed throughout the UK to various retailers, wholesalers, restaurants, caterers and, more recently, to online re-sellers. The company is extremely passionate about its brand ‘Mudwalls Follow the Flavour’, under which it markets various fresh fruits and vegetables, and many other crafted artisan foods. As such, Mudwalls has enjoyed much success in supplying a range of its own and other growers’ fresh produce under the brand to The Midcounties Co-operative (The Co-operative Food), WholeFoods Market and many online recipe box subscription companies. Today, George’s work takes him from his own farm to visit suppliers all around the world, meeting with interesting customers both small and large. Having gone from strength to strength over the years, now Mudwalls Farm is looking to expand its resources and welcome more foodies to join its team.
