Simon is a multi award-winning chef, author and social entrepreneur who is best known for his work with the London-based social enterprise businesses that he founded - Beyond Food Community Interest Company (CIC) and its Brigade Bar and Bistro restaurant. Over the last 20 years, Simon has enjoyed an eclectic career spanning positions at: The Savoy Hotel, The Chewton Glen, Oriana, P&O Cruises in Southampton, Minerva, V-Ships in Monaco, Mossimann's Academy London and as Culinary Ambassador for Unilever. In 2006, Simon was the Chef Founder of Beyond Food CIC (previously Beyond Food Foundation), a creative hospitality social enterprise that delivers professional training programmes for people affected by homelessness; inspiring its participants to gain sustainable employment in the hospitality sector. Simon's social enterprise restaurant Brigade was established when he created a unique partnership with PwC, De Vere Venues and now WSH Group. It has received widespread recognition for its innovation and social impact, and catered for up to 1,000 guests across a broad range of events, such as award ceremonies, marketing launches and corporate dining events. Beyond Food apprentices are trained in the Kitchen at Brigade, where they work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery in preparation to gain meaningful employment in the hospitality sector when they graduate.
